UAV Helicopter
To assist a customer in their surveying of farming land, ClaroWorks developed a hybrid UAV helicopter. This helicopter leveraged the efficiency of a single rotor design to allow for upwards of 2h of autonomous flight time and a 25lb payload!
The design began as an OTS nitro-methane powered RC helicopter and developed into a ClaroWorks-designed craft with a hybrid gasoline/electric powertrain. By utilizing off-the-shelf components whenever possible and an open-source flight control software, costs were kept down all while providing the necessary performance!
